PRESENTERS PACK

The flip, tumble, and weave of young love

The Pitch

Set in an anthropomorphised living room, two young acrobats find themselves tangled in miscommunication and romance. A world of magical realism where the couch speaks, delivers delicious pizza and eats performers. Space Between uses circus to explore the trust required in relationships and how they can both complicate and enrich our lives. Space Between investigates the circus form, combining elements of text, physical theatre and clowning. These elements create an absurd narrative where one character can see the audience and the other can’t. This revelation fuels the tension of the show as the characters struggle to communicate their needs.

Show Copy

Charming and bold, this circus rom-com is "...perfect for anyone who loves love."

These acrobats will warm your heart throughout the ups and downs of their relationship. Filled with meaningful moments and many belly laughs, these beautifully naive characters use exciting circus skills to demonstrate the trust that is required in all relationships.

'Space Between' plays with theatrical conventions; one character can see the audience, and the other can’t. They tumble through space, perch precariously on each other, and handstand atop their old weathered couch—all while navigating the strange sensation of finding an audience in their living room. The show explores how we see one another, it holds space for vulnerability and invites audiences to share in those tough conversations.

Short Show Bio

An evolving relationship through an absurdist lens, Space Between is filled to the brim with exciting circus skills and evokes feelings of connection and finding purpose that speaks to all hearts.

Tomas Correia Bio

Born the ‘flying zucchini’, the oddball Tomas Correia has spent over 10 years training circus at Spaghetti Circus, Circa Zoo and NICA. He strives to be multi-skilled in various disciplines and is particularly fascinated about pushing the creative, and wacky boundaries of all the physical aspects in circus, and how it can be combined with other art forms such as dance, music and other visual arts. Tomas also founded Statera Circus in 2019, and has added graphic design and marketing to his tool belt.

Company Bio

Even more than you bargained for. Our company strives for presenting authenticity, evoking thoughts, and exciting circus. We want to share stories that audiences can connect with and get people thinking. 13 EGGS comprises two kooky characters; Aleshanee Kelso and Tomas Correia, who studied at The National Institute of Circus Arts in Melbourne. With a collective 30 years circus experience working for companies such as Casus Circus, A Good Catch Circus and co-founding Statera Circus, we put our thoughts together to create a quirky bakers dozen.

Aleshanee Kelso Bio

Aleshanee Kelso (Lesh) started out at Spaghetti Circus and had a decade of circus experience when she graduated from The National Institute of Circus Arts in 2019. Specialising in partner acrobatics and tippy-ring, Aleshanee loves to experiment and push boundaries with form. In 2020 Aleshanee helped co-create Statera Circus and their SYAI program that facilitates emerging artists creating new work and engaging with young people. This led to her co-creating 13 EGGS in 2022. Her other notable performances have been in Signal by Signal Circus, A Good Catch Circus in their award winning 'Casting Off', and their new show ‘Airborne’.
